TOASTED SESAME OIL
Made from toasted sesame seeds, this delicious oil has an intensely toasty, fragrant aroma, rich golden brown color, and a slightly sweet, nutty taste. It's no wonder it's become an essential ingredient in many Asian dishes.
Toasted sesame oil has a lower smoke point than its counterpart, sesame oil. It is best used drizzled sparingly over foods, as a condiment or finishing oil, before serving. If used during cooking it doesn't like to be heated aggressively. Toasted sesame oil adds delicious depth to steamed veggies. Try adding a teaspoon or two at the end of cooking or incorporating it into a dressing, glaze, or sauce. It's great for adding toasty, nutty flavor to noodles, stir-fries, grains, salads, salad dressings, hummus, marinades, and vegetables. Wonderful paired with rice wine vinegar or with many of our balsamic vinegars. We like it with our ginger, lemon, or jalapeño lime white balsamics.
